چکیده
The true coincidence effect is studied in two High Purity Germanium (HPGe) detectors for a variety of isotopes, source geometries and to detector configurations, via computational tools based on Monte–Carlo simulations. Τhe upgraded patch MCNP code MCNP–CP the 2018 version PENELOPE, which take into account decay scheme each cascade emitter, are used calculate Full Energy Peak Efficiency (FEPE) corresponding gamma-ray energies. correction (TCC) factor calculated as ratio FEPE derived nuclide taking consideration effect, estimated without considering phenomenon. In all cases, satisfactory agreement observed between TCC factors using PENELOPE 2018. Moreover, results calculations compared against experimentally efficiency values. obtained TrueCoinc software applied determined curves, measurements performed reference sources, consequently corrected data simulations "non-coincidence" case. this work contribute validation codes study determine factors, providing useful gamma–spectrometry studies emitters.

Efficiency Loss in HPGe Detectors due to Beta and Gamma Sum Coincidence
Among the secondary detection effects in gamma-ray spectroscopy with HPGe detectors that reduce the peak area and must be properly taken into account in accurate measurements, the less well known is counting loss by beta and gamma-ray sum coincidence. The fraction of lost counts was estimated assuming that a photon detection event can sum either with the coincident beta-ray or its bremsstrahlun...

Several encapsulated single Germanium detectors have been mounted in one unit and integrated in a cryostat, in order to build efficient spectrometers to detect γ radiation emitted by nuclei excited in nuclear reactions. This kind of crystal encapsulation offer advantages compared to standard set-up of HPGedetectors. The basic aim of the following work is to develop a new capsule technology, in ...

An experiment to search for double beta processes in Cd by using cadmium tungstate crystal scintillator enriched in Cd (106CdWO4) in coincidence with the four crystals HPGe detector GeMulti is in progress at the STELLA facility of the Gran Sasso underground laboratory of INFN (Italy). The 106CdWO4 scintillator is viewed by a low-background photomultiplier tube through a lead tungstate crystal l...
